Completed Projects
Project Name: Village Square Shopping Center
Location: Delafield, WI
This project involved not only building a 51,000 sf grocery store, a 24,000 sf retail strip on the north side of the site, and a 12,000 sf retail strip on the south side, it also involved extensive site development work. The Redmond Company’s team carefully cleared the land and built five retention ponds under the watchful eyes of the City and environmentalists who were concerned with the destruction of possible tree species. Our team was instrumental in coordinating over one mile of STH 83 widening, and the installation of turn lanes, traffic signals, and access points to the site. We worked with a consulting engineer, State Department of Transportation staff, city personnel, neighbors, and a friendly competitor who was working across the highway. Our site superintendent helped keep the communications flowing and served as the project’s trouble shooter. While not every available space had tenants move in initially, the shopping center was built to accommodate multi-tenants in the two retail buildings along with the preparation of building pads for future construction.

Project Name: Qdoba
Location: Milwaukee, WI
This contemporary building features a raised front that incorporates an exoskeletal structure where the steel members are exposed. The project was a remodel of an existing building. The Redmond Company was involved early on, in the purchase process of this property. In order to come up with a plan that would make this a feasible purchase for the potential owner, Redmond was involved in extensive pre-planning. Redmond was able to create a design that utilized the existing building in order to save some costs making it evident to the client that this would be a financially feasible option. This is the 11th project that The Redmond Company has done for this client.

Project Name: Gordon Food Service Marketplace
Location: Mt. Pleasant, WI
The Redmond Company is pleased to have completed one of Gordon Food Service's first Martketplace Stores in Wisconsin. Construction of this new store was performed over the winter months. Mother Nature caused a month of lost work days. Despite a tight time frame and the weather delays, through superior construction management, regular subcontractor meetings, and strict scheduling for good weather days, the project team was able to meet the projected completion date. Headquartered in Michigan, Gordon Food Service executives were able to easily monitor site conditions and construction progress via a web cam.

Project Name: Omni Community Credit Union
Location: Oshtemo, MI
The Redmond Company provided design and construction services for this new branch. The branch was designed with many architectural elements found at the main office, to create a branding theme. This branch was Redmond's second project with Omni.

Project Name: Palmer Bank
Location: Taylorville, IL
Palmer Bank selected The Redmond Company as its partner for the planning, design and construction of a new main office facility. The new 11,800 sf office is located on the corner of Webster and Park Streets in Taylorville, IL. The project is a result of nearly six years of planning with the bank. Originally, the bank was looking to expand and remodel its existing facility. The project was to be completed in conjunction with a $12 million expansion on the adjacent Taylorville Memorial Hospital and the hospital’s new main entrance would be constructed on land donated by Palmer Bank. During the course of the planning with the hospital project, the bank experienced tremendous growth. The team soon realized it needed even more space than was available on the existing site. In late 2008, The Redmond Company and Palmer Bank worked to find an alternative location nearby, ultimately settling on a prime corner adjacent to Walgreens, and located at the busiest intersection in town. Design on the new site was completed in 2009 and construction began in the Fall of 2009. The bank moved into the new building in August of 2010.

Project Name: Oak Forest Banking Center
Location: Oak Forest, IL
Oak Forest Banking Center, a facility of Carlinville National Bank selected The Redmond Company to design and construct an interior remodel for their new branch bank. The programs main focus was to create a relaxed and inviting environment for their clients. The ambiance is achieved through the use of earth tone colors, textures, and indirect lighting. The clientele are welcomed with access to a wireless network for ease of banking transactions and will be able to stay up to date with current market trends via the media center. The project also included a new two-lane drive-up canopy with two-way video. This is Redmond’s second project with Carlinville National Bank Shares.

Project Name: Athens State Bank
Location: Petersburg, IL
Athens State Bank has experienced strong growth. Adding the New Salem branch will help them to provide additional services and convenience to its customers in the Petersburg and surrounding markets, thus complementing its other retail locations. The timeless beauty of this contemporary 4,250 sf prairie-style structure is located on the corner of State Highway 97 and Boy Scout Trail in Menard County, just south of Petersburg. The facility was designed to provide ease of use to its customers, both inside and outside. The interior, with its rich blend of colors, materials and beautiful lannon stone walls and lounge area provides a warm and inviting experience for their customers. In order to maintain the bank’s many connections to the Athens community, Redmond incorporated a number of design elements including the relocation of the original 1910-era vault door from the first Athens State Bank, to the new facility. In addition to the directional design elements, a large sculpture of the Athens State Bank “tree” logo reinforces the bank’s strong roots in the community as it hangs on the stone wall in the lobby. Redmond provided consulting, programming, design and construction services.

Project Name: Midland States Bank
Location: Effingham, IL
Midland States Bank selected The Redmond Company to provide master planning, site selection and design services for its new four-story 80,000 sf building in Effingham, IL. The building is the headquarters for the bank’s administrative, operations and finance divisions. Redmond began working with Midland in 2008 as part of their strategic planning. The bank had hired a new management team in 2007 and was projecting to grow its market share. Since then, the bank has experienced phenomenal growth, and needed a building that “would make a statement” in the community. The result is a four-story building with an extensive glass exterior to provide day lighting throughout. Roof terraces and a patio blend the exterior environment with the interiors. The lobby atriuml provides an open air feel to the common areas. The building was designed to achieve the LEED “Certification Level” as designated by the US Green Building Council (USGBC). This is achieved through the use of water efficient plumbing fixtures, recycled materials, energy management systems, and a construction waste-management program. 2010 BankNews Innovative Solutions Award

Project Name: Lynch GM Superstore
Location: Burlington, WI
Redmond designed this building with the Lynch customer in mind. The exterior colonnade provides ample space to not only display the GM line of vehicles, but also a protective space for customers to view the vehicles in daylight and well-lit evening light, amongst the commanding 21 foot high columns. The Superstore’s interior includes a 2-story showroom with customer-accessible computer area, children’s play area, coffee dispensing, waiting room areas, and washrooms. For the Lynch staff, the Superstore provides 12 sales corrals and several manager offices, 4 finance offices, and executive offices. The second floor overlooks the sales floor and houses executive and administrative offices. Redmond’s floor plan maximizes the effectiveness of the proximity and interaction of all the spaces, as well as accommodates the client’s specific preferences. The facility includes a full service garage area with 1 alignment and 25 service bays, complete body/repair shop, detail shop, parts storage and lighted, heated and ventilated paint booth. Skylights provide natural lighting for the service bays. The customer service drive-up area is covered. An outlot building accommodates the used car sales office and used car display area. In addition to the Superstore and Used Car Center, The Redmond Company assisted the client with further development of this 66+ acre site. Phase II accommodated a Menards store, while Phase III was a Redmond-designed and built 15,181 sf strip shopping center called The Burlington Retail Center. The Center was designed to house 11 retail stores.

Projects In Construction
Project Name: Bank Midwest
Location: Jackson, MN
Bank Midwest has a strong brand identity of being “One Place.” Therefore our goal in designing this new 6,000 sf branch was to enhance their brand by creating a truly unique and dynamically designed retail experience. This is accomplished by incorporating design elements that create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, including a strategically placed lifestyle graphics and branded elements throughout. At the heart of the hub and spoke floor plan, is a large free flowing, circular retail space which gives the customer uninhibited access to move about and peruse all of the bank’s products and services. A goal of Bank Midwest was to provide access and visibility to all three of their divisions – retail banking, insurance, and investments – this is accomplished by locating these services strategically in and around this central rotunda, allowing for great sight lines and increase opportunities for cross-selling between the divisions. To further enhance the circular flow and reinforce the brand, the retail space will be surrounded by a branded circular soffit. This creates visual interest and further invites customers to explore all that Bank Midwest has to offer. Several clerestories provide natural light to the interior space and help to create a sense of openness. Extras such as a full service coffee bar, internet cafe, and comfortable furniture will entice customers to lounge and relax. A curved lifestyle graphic placed over the teller pod transaction area and warm color palette is designed to speak to the predominately agricultural demographic and reinforce the bank’s connection to the local community. Numerous graphic light walls and video screens will draw the customer’s attention to key venues and kiosks throughout the retail space providing constant and consistent brand reinforcement. The balanced use of color, light, texture combined with a soft curve through the space all work in concert to reinforce Bank Midwest’s brand identity and promote a memorable and positive customer experience. The exterior was designed to complement the interior retail space, and reinforce Bank Midwest’s brand while creating a unique presence in the community. The curved metal roofing and natural materials, once again, speak to the rural agricultural demographic. In contrast, expansive glazed elements and tiered clearstories draw the outside in and enhance the overall visual impact of the structure. The large curved glass exterior wall along the main street allows passers-by to have expansive views of the dynamic retail space within, allowing the interior branding and marketing to be experienced from the exterior of the building as well. Strategically placed applied graphics on the exterior will create added visual interest and reinforce the bank’s signature message of “One Place.” The Redmond company will be providing consulting, programming, planning, design and construction services. The scope of this project includes temporary relocation of the existing branch operations, followed by demolition of the existing 10,000 sf building and construction of the new branch.

Richard S. Dennis, President and CEO Athens State Bank
"We had met with several other companies prior to selecting The Redmond Company. We chose Redmond for our new branch based on their comprehensive design/build experience and recommendations from other bankers in the area. Redmond led us through the process from programming, due diligence, planning and zoning, design, and through construction. They were always in communication with us during the entire project from start to finish. The expertise, professionalism, and integrity of the company is evident from the architects, project managers, to the job superintendent. It was truly an enjoyable experience to work with The Redmond Company - in fact we will be selecting them for our next remodel. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a consulting/design/build expert."
